Its marlin season in Mozambique, and our fishing guides and guests have been having some back-breaking fights with these giants.
Shore fishing from the stretch of beach in front of the Restaurant has been extraordinarily good lately.
A massive sandshark, estimated at around 100kg was landed.
It took Paul a good two hours and a lot of muscle power to bring this beautiful shark ashore. It was released immediately.
Once again, a good number of giant trevally were reeled in offshore, as well as from the beach.

Corne Janse van Rensburg snuck some honeymoon time off and caught this giant trevally. He also hooked two marlin, which sadly, got away.
The first turtle nests were found!
Turtle breeding season starts from November to January and we are excitedly looking out for them. We have two guards from the Wildlife Sanctuary patrolling the beach for poachers. Watch this space next month for more photos!

Fresh tracks from the previous night. Its surprising how high up on the dunes the mother made the nest; she must have been very exhausted indeed.
Bird lovers are having some very special treats at Nyati Beach Lodge this month.

A big flock of lesser frigates hovered above the lodge for two days. They are fascinating birds and quite rare visitors.

A Yellowbill Kite scoures the shore for a catch of fish.
Birds weren't the only thing you saw in the sky this month. We hosted members from the PPG club South Africa who were doing their motorised paragliding course here.
Read more about their adventure in their newsletter at www.ppg.co.za.
Thank you guys; it was wonderful having you here. See you again next month!

Nyati Beach Lodge; spectacular from a bird's eye view.
