Vacation Day 1. Arrival at vacation destination
Nyati staff will be waiting in the Vilankulo Airport, Mozambique to welcome you and arrange the transfer by boat or helicopter to Nyati Beach Lodge. The helicopter transfer offers a great opportunity to see the stunning Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary from above. This nature reserve offers one of the most spectacular vacation spots in the world due to its unique and untouched flora, fauna and wildlife of the Bazaruto Archipelago. In this vacation paradise you find Nyati Beach Lodge, sheltered by green dunes and ilala palms, on the small sandy isthmus that separates the Indian Ocean from the Bazaruto Archipelago.
Following arrival lunch will be served in the lodge restaurant, overlooking the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters of the Nyati vacation paradise in Mozambique. An information meeting will be held after lunch to arrange your personal vacation program and the accommodation in the luxurious beach villas and suites. There will be some free time to take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean or relax on the large terraces of the guest villas, taking in the wonderful view of the sea and getting into "vacation mode". The evening begins with a welcome cocktail party followed by a gourmet meal in the comfortable lodge restaurant.
Vacation Day 2. Water sports activities
Take a trip to the beach, where the Water Sports Centre will be waiting to tempt you with a range of free vacation activities including wind surfing, sailing in Hobie Cats and kayaks, pedalo boats and snorkeling. If you fancy diving, you can take a boat to one of the coral reefs and dive down to the depths to discover the wonderful underwater world of Mozambique. You can also try the new diving school, where beginner and intermediate divers can receive professional instruction from the lodge's skilled instructors. You can also choose to qualify for an international diving certificate, where you will be taught in accordance with PADI standards.
If you have always dreamed of hooking a marlin, your personal vacation package here in Mozambique can include taking a cruise in the lodge's deep sea fishing boat, which sails well offshore early in the morning, as well as at other times, if required. (Diving and deep sea fishing are paid for separately).
Late in the afternoon all vacation guests are invited to attend a Sunset cruise onboard one of the distinctive local boats (dhows). This cruise is included in the overall vacation package price. We spend around 1.5 hours out at sea enjoying the glowing sunset with a cool drink before returning to the lodge for an evening meal. These delicious meals are prepared using the best local ingredients and represent the best of international cuisine.
Vacation Day 3. Visit to local communities of Mozambique
Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary Mozambique offers much more than endless beaches, sunshine and sea. The extensive wetlands with mangrove swamps, salt marshes and mudflats are home to large colonies of pelicans and flamingos. An excursion to the Inhambane estuary by dhow is yet another event included in the vacation package. This event is dependent on the weather and can therefore be scheduled at various times in the vacation program. We visit a small local fishing community, where the inhabitants still live in their distinctive straw huts with earth floors and prepare food over open fires. We also offer a visit to the interesting farming project that was set up at the time the reserve was established. We then return to Nyati Beach Lodge to enjoy a barbecue in the lodge's outdoor eating area on the beach.
Vacation Days 4 - 5. Relaxation and enjoyment
Relax with a good book by the pool or on the beach. If you want to enjoy a bit of romance, ask the kitchen to pack a picnic and then sail out to one of the many uninhabited islands in the area. Alternatively, if you would like some exercise during your vacation, then taking a jog along the 10 kilometers of private undisturbed beach or paddling your own canoe along the beach is an excellent choice. You can also sign up for one of the daily diving and deep sea fishing trips.
Vacation Day 6. Sailing in the Bazaruto Archipelago of Mozambique
The Bazaruto Archipelago of Mozambique comprises four large islands and a chain of tropical islets and sand banks. A relaxing sailing trip around these islands, providing plenty of opportunities for swimming and snorkeling, is included in the vacation package price. Afterwards you can enjoy a picnic on a beach on one of the nearby islands. Then it is back to Nyati Beach Lodge for a barbecue in the outdoor eating area on the beach.
Vacation Day 7. Pure relaxation
The day is set aside for optional activities, or relaxing on the beach or in the lodge's pleasant pool area. In the evening you can enjoy cocktails on the terrace and an exquisite dinner, served on an elegantly laid table by the illuminated pool. A quiet hour with coffee and cognac around the hearth provides a perfect end to the last vacation day.
Vacation Day 8. Local city tour and departure from Mozambique
The day begins with breakfast and some free time. Lunch is served in Nyati Beach Lodge followed by boat or helicopter transfer back to the mainland. The vacation package includes a short city tour around Vilanculos with an English-speaking guide, where you will get a quick insight into the daily life of the local inhabitants of Mozambique. A visit to the local market is a colorful experience, where you will have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs such as beautiful earthenware, carved wooden figures and woven baskets. Here the farmers sell their own vegetables and fruit and you can watch the baker and the barber at work. The tour will end at the Vilankulo airport where guests will end their Nyati Beach vacation in Mozambique.
14-day vacation at Nyati Beach Lodge
Guests who opt to spend an extra week at Nyati Beach Lodge in Mozambique follow the same vacation program as above during the second week. This second week includes the same number of excursions, activities and events.
